KEEP IT HAPPY: WINTER SKINCARE REQUIREMENTS

Winters are here!

I love this weather.. cozy blanket, hot chocolate, long coats and shivering hands. Well I stay in a city which has neither of this 😞😞. However there is a dip in temperature at night and the skin becomes quite dry and dehydrated.

It is very important to take good care of yourself during this season. I am here today with the list of products that are mandatory to fight against the skin issues this season.

Winter Skincare Requirements

For The Daytime:

Start your regime with a good and gentle scrub. I am currently using the Neutrogena Visibly clear Daily Scrub. It has very fine particles and does not damage your skin at all. Although it is mentioned as daily scrub, I use it twice a week to remove all the dead skin :).

Follow this with a suitable face wash as per your skin type. Recently, I faced a series of skin issues and on doctor's advice I switched to Keracnyl Foaming Gel by Ducray. This one is a bit dry on my skin but has helped my skin to heal. I follow it with a good amount of moisturiser and I am good to go. Other suggestions:
La Rooche Posay Effaclar Foaming Gel
Lotus Herbal Neem Wash Face Wash

Ducray Karcnyl Foaming Gel

Apply your toner after cleaning the face and let it stay for a minute. Post it wipe the excess one and start with your moisturization routine. Try the Kama Ayurveda Pure Rose water (Rs. 250 for 50 ml) as it immediately gives a refreshing effect, balances pH level and helps tighten pores.

Taking care of your under eye area is very important as that is the most delicate skin on our face. The under eye skin becomes extremely dry and develops fine lines. I have started using the Elizabeth Arden Ceramide Plump Perfect Ultra Lift & Firm Eye Cream (Rs. 3890/-). It is quite costly but I have heard a lot of good reviews about it. Since my under eye area requires the extra love, I decided t give it a try. I just take a very little amount of the cream, warm it up using my fingers and dab it on my under eye area.

Let the eye cream stay for 2 minutes and then apply a hydrating face day cream & serum, followed with a sunscreen cream.
Never skin on the sunscreen, even if we are sitting at home!
I am currently using the Plum Hello Aloe Caring Day Moisturizer (Rs. 450/- for 60 ml) and The Body Shop Drops Of Youth face serum (Rs. 2895/- for 30 ml). It has aloe vera, vitamin E & glycerin which keeps your skin hydrated & supple. Add 2 drops of your favourite serum in the face cream so that it can spread all over the face. The serum penetrates deep into your skin and helps it to rejuvenate.

The Body Shop Face Serum

For sunscreen, I am currently obsessed with Inveda Sunscreen Cream Gel with SPF 30. It smells so good! The cream is not heavy or sticky on the face and has a SPF of 30.

Finally, apply a thick layer of lip balm on your lips.
Just like our face, our body also needs hydration. So apply a generous amount of body lotion to lock all the moisture and to make it look healthy. Follow this with a body mist and you are ready to rock your day!

For The Night:

I keep my night skincare routine very simple.

I clean my face using the same face wash and toner. Mix the face serum with a night cream and apply it all over my face. I am currently using the Plum Grapeseed & Sea Buckthorn night cream (Rs. 525/- for 50 ml). The cream has Vitamin A,C & E with grape seed oil which helps moisturise the skin, repairs the skin and is rich in anti oxidants. It is also very light and does feel greasy at all.

Later I apply the same body lotion and a hand cream to keep my hands soft! After all, you need that extra love & care!

Purol Hand Cream
The list might seem a bit long but winters are the time when we need to give extra attention to our skin.  Hope this post was helpful in any way :). Do let me know your skincare routine and suggest a few effective products that you have tried!

Until then...
Ciao!!
