LAKME 9 TO 5 WEIGHTLESS MATTE MOUSSE LIP & CHEEK COLOR; MY THOUGHTS

Lakme has recently come out with their new lip products in their 9 to 5 range, Matte Mousse Lip & Cheek Color. A product that can be used in multiple ways! This was more than enough for me to get my hands on this ASAP. So I gifted myself the shade 'Burgundy Lush'. 😊

My Experience:

The lip & cheek color is available in 10 beautiful shades and comes in a tube packaging. It has the beautiful rose gold tube with a silver cap. However, it still feels like a sample product. It has no details apart from the shade name at the bottom. It is also missing the shade demarcation and the packaging is same for all of them. It has a doe foot applicator which makes the application very precise and covers the lips completely.

Coming to the texture, I am in love with it! It has a smooth, velvety mousse like texture which is very light and you will not even feel it on your lips. Highly pigmented and it gives an opaque coverage with just one swipe. The lip color is very smooth, dries off with a velvety matte finish and does not dehydrate my lips at all. However, it starts settling into the fine lines after 3-4 hours.

Since Burgundy Lush (a brick/burgundy shade) is a dark shade, it stays on the lips for about 5- 6 hours. However, it tends to wear off from the centre of the lips if you eat/drink something.

The mousse lip & cheek color takes 30 - 40 seconds to dry up hence it needs to be worked quickly when used as a cheek tint. These are a bit difficult to blend after it sets. Since these are also very pigmented, a little bit of product does the magic on the cheek.

• Works perfectly as both lip & cheek colour
• Travel friendly

Cons:

• Dull packaging with no shade demarcation
• Settles into the fine lines of the lips
• Cannot survive a full meal and starts fading at the centre
• Seems to be a bit pricey

Overall I am happy with the product as it is apt for the 9 to 5 timing. Highly pigmented, soft & light on the lips and good staying power. With a few hits and a few misses, Burgundy Lush is a beautiful brick red shade which is perfect for the upcoming festive season.
